November Remembrance & Gaisce Awards at Coláiste Muire
The staff and students at Coláiste Muire set up a table of remembrance this November to provide a focal point for the school community to remember loved ones who have gone before us. Congratulations also to Rachel, Kaytlin, Rachael, Emer and Caitlyn who were award their Silver Gaisce Award in October. Over the last year, these five dedicated students completed community skills, personal skills, physical recreation and their adventure journey. Gaisce or ‘great achievement’ is a self-development programme for young people between the ages of 15-25 and has been in existence since 1985. To date over 300,000 young people have participated in the Gaisce programme. The main aim of teh Gaisce programme in Coláiste Muire is to ensure there is a programme which fits the needs of every young person who wishes to participate and to give each participant the best possible opportunity to do so. The programme organisers believe in the ability and resilience of young people and through the Gaisce programme, they want them to nurture that ability and to realise their full potential. Well done girls.
