Preslink Christmas Concert
A large audience was treated to a wonderful evening of quality entertainment in the auditorium at PBC on Saturday 11th December. Among the many highlights were a skilled performance from the Bodhrán Bookills from St Joseph’s NS, a wonderful rendition of O Holy Night by the very talented Oran Murphy, a star solo performance by PBC teacher, David O’Riordan, and a selection of songs and Christmas carols from two wonderful choirs: Cantate and the City of Cork Male Voice Choir. Unquestionably, however, the star turn on the night was a virtuoso performance on both violin and piano by PBC Transition Year student and Preslink Committee member, Kevin Jansson. Recently returned from his success in Serbia, Kevin demonstrated all the skills that have made him one of Ireland’s most accomplished young musicians. Master (or should that be Mistress?!!) of Ceremonies on the night was Aelin O’Donoghue who kept things moving along with some sharp repartee. Brother Martin reminded us all of the greater purpose behind the event and thanked the backroom team of Enda, Sharon, Liam, Teresa and Val for the incredible work they had done in organising such a special night.
