An Taoiseach Mícheál Martin paid a visit to his old primary school on the 27th September. He was greeted by Principal, Eoin Fitzpatrick and by Denis Bohane, Chairperson of the Board of Management. Carmel Murphy, Chairperson of PBST, Brother Raymond, Provincial of the Presentation Brothers, members of the Board of Management and a number of past staff members were also on hand to greet the Taoiseach. Having toured the school and relived old memories, Mr Fitzpatrick and Mr Bohane formally welcomed Mr Martin to Bunscoil Chríost Rí. Mr Martin responded by marking a heartfelt address in whcih he spoke to his audience of current staff and pupils about his time in what was then Scoil Chríost Rí. Two highlights of the visit was a presentation to An Taoiseach by his sister, staff member, Mairead Martin and the Q&A session where Mr Martin responded to some very probing questions prepared by the pupils of the school.
